Dagupan hosts Milo marathon qualifying race July 17

THE 40th Milo National Marathon first qualifying race will be held in Dagupan City on July 17 that will commence and culminate at Judge Jose de Venecia, Sr. Blvd.

According to event chief organizer, Tess Bernardino, it will be run in five categories with multiple distances, 3k, 5k, 10k and the half-marathon 21 kilometers.

She said the 3k category will be a kiddie fun-run competition exclusively for 7 to 12 years of age or born within the years 2004 to 2009 with parent or guardian consent with entry fee of P100.00 while the 5k fun-run contest is an open race for students and adults with entry fee of P150.00 apiece.

Bernardino added each runner of the 10k event have to pay P650.00 and have to be 16 years old born in the year 2000 while the half-marathon will cost each contestant P750.00 and have to be 18 years old and above, born in the year 1998. Starting time is 4:30 a.m. at the vicinity of CSI Mall.

The National Finals will be held in Iloilo City on December 4. (Jesus Garcia, Jr.)
