Balon Dagupan Choir wins 2015 Malaysian Children’s Chorale Festival

THE Balon Dagupan Children’s Choir (BDCC), organized by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, won the Malaysia International Children Choral Festival 2016, besting 15 other contenders from different countries held last July 16 in Selangor, Malaysia.

BDCC received the Gold A Grade Award, the highest recognition accorded a choral group for outstanding performance; the Shah Alam Mayor Award for being the overall champion; and the Most Promising Choir (Overseas) Award, in their rendition of the “O Sanctissima” and “Orde E”, their two winning pieces in the competition.

With the theme “Binding Culture through Music”, choral groups from Vietnam, India, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines participated in the competition.

The BDCC was organized by Mayor Fernandez’ to develop and promote children’s cultural talents.

Mayor Fernandez congratulated the BDCC members upon hearing the judges’ verdict and thanked Professor Adolfo Mendoza and his wife, Virginia Llamas-Mendoza, for their dedication in teaching the children.

“We will continue to develop our children by providing them the scholarship in music. Mabuhay kayong lahat! You made history for our city!” said Fernandez. (JCB_CIO)
