48 drug suspects surrender in Dagupan

FORTY-eight drug users, pushers and runners from Barangays Lucao, Malued and Lasip Grande jointly surrendered to the city government on Tuesday.

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez welcomed the second batch of drug personalities that surrendered to the police.

“I am glad that these residents involved in illegal drugs have decided to voluntarily surrender themselves and signed an undertaking with the Dagupan City Police that they will stop engaging in illegal drugs activities,” Fernandez said.

She added, “But their surrender doesn’t mean that they are no longer answerable to the law because they will still be under surveillance by the police”.

Fernandez said she hopes that “this is the start of rebuilding their lives and do what is right this time”. (Tita Roces)
