June 20, special holiday in Dagupan

JUNE 20 has been declared as a special (non-working) day by Malacañang as Dagupan marks its 69th Charter Anniversary.

By authority of President Benigno S. Aquino III, Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa Jr. signed Proclamation No. 1296 declaring Monday, June 20, as a special holiday in Dagupan on June 10.

The city’s 69th Anniversary will be graced by Congressman-elect Christopher ‘Toff’ P. De Venecia as guest of honor and speaker.

This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme: “Pangkakasakey na Dagupeño, UNLI-serbisyo’y Nagamuran”.

Among the activities prepared by the city are “Kaunuran na Sankatakkenan na Dagupeño”, “Kidiam na Oraka”, “Labanan na Awaran”, “Arte de Dagupan” and Beat the Feat-4 dance contest.

An early morning thanksgiving mass will be celebrated and will be followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the statue of Speaker Eugenio P. Perez on Herrero-Perez.

The elected young officers of the “Manlingkor ya Kalangweran” will take their oaths before Mayor Belen T. Fernandez.
