Renauld N. Barrios, SBP executive director, said SBP will shoulder the allowances of the players and FIBA will take care of the hotel accommodation and the meals for the days of the tournament.

The DepEd’s counterpart will pay for the airfare of the three grade school students and their coach/adviser Jethru Yao.

“This is the first time that a provincial team, particularly from a public school to represent the country in an international competition in basketball,” said SBP Regional Director Edilberto R. Abalos.

The Wildcats won P50,000 as a prize in the national championship game.
