FOR BALIK ESKWELA

LINGAYEN—The Department of Public Works and Highways 2nd Pangasinan Engineering District here turned over 150 classrooms to public schools under its jurisdiction in time for Balik Eskwela last Monday.

District Engineer Rodolfo Dion told The PUNCH that the classrooms in public schools are in Second and Fourth Districts of Pangasinan.

Dion pointed out that about 200 other classrooms more are still being constructed.

Some of these classrooms are part of four-storey buildings where the first and second floors have been finished but the third and fourth floors are still undergoing construction.

He said that he could not allow temporary occupancy of the finished sections in order to avoid any untoward incidents that may happen. “We don’t want to be blamed in case of accidents,” he said.

Dion said his office received late advisories last week about more classrooms to be built, especially in the Fourth District whose biddings have yet to be advertised. (Tita Roces)
