23 drug pushers arrested in Urdaneta City

URDANETA CITY—One notorious drug pusher was killed while twenty-three others have been arrested in twelve buy-bust operations conducted by the Urdaneta City Police Station (UCPS) from January 1 to June 8 this year.

P/Supt. Jeff Fanged, chief of UCPS, some 81. 4181 grams of shabu were confiscated in those operations.

Killed was Larry Tenefrancia, a notorious known drug pusher, at the Catholic Cemetery at Barangay Poblacion last May 17, when he resisted arrest and decided to shoot it out with the arresting officers.

Among those arrested were also charged with illegal possession of firearms.

One suspect yielded 22.22 grams of shabu in a buy-bust operation, the biggest volume seized so far this year.

Reacting to the “shoot-to-kill” order of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte against drug lords and pushers, Fanged said “It should always be based on established law, like principles of self-defense and with reasonable force dapat and the life of arresting officer is put on danger.” (Hilda Austria)
