DTI launches feature-writing contest

HIGH school and college students in Pangasinan can now showcase their writing skills through the “Best Feature Story Contest” launched by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Peter Mangabat, provincial director of DTI-Pangasinan, said entries must revolve around success stories of DTI-assisted micro, small and medium enterprises.

Participants may submit as many entries as they can but entries submitted must be non-fiction, written in English, composed of at least 1, 500 words but not exceeding 3, 500 words, typewritten in single space in Microsoft Word (with all pages numbered), typewritten using font Arial (font size 11), and submitted with a cover page indicating the title of the story, name of the student writer, school, province or region as well as contact details.

Entries should also include three to five high-resolution photos relevant to the story.

Deadline for submission is on or before May 6.

Winning entries shall be announced during the media conference of NKATBP program on May 26-28 at the Philippine Science High School Ilocos Region Campus in San Ildefonso, Ilocos Sur.

Cash prizes are P5, 000 for the first placer, P3,000 for the second placer, and P2, 000 for the third placer.
