Bugallon Cycling Classic, May 29

SOME 100 amateur cyclists, men and women, will vie for honors in four categories at the 2016 Bugallon Cycling Classic scheduled on May 29.

According to event chief coordinator Marella Salamat, the one-day event will be highlighted by the men’s 18 to 24 years old category to be run in 90 kilometers while the boys (15-17 years old) and executive divisions will both be conducted in 70 kilometers.

The Salamat, 2015 Southeast Asia Games gold medalist, added that the women’s class will also be staged in 50 kilometers and will be participated in by Michelle Domingo-Barrachea of San Carlos City, wife of four-time Tour champion Santy Barnachea.
Cash prizes and trophies are up for grabs. Members of the national team are excluded to participate. (Jesus Garcia, Jr.)
