Bb. Alcala is Limgas na Pangasinan 2016
LINGAYEN— The lone representative of Alcala was crowned the Limgas na Pangasinan 2016.
Candidate Karissa Anne Lopez impressed the judges with her beauty and wit during the final question-and-answer segment of the pageant held at the Capitol Plaza in the evening of April 30 that they decided she deserved to win the title.
Asked of how she can help maintain and achieve the advocacy of the Governor to be number 1, the 19-year-old beauty said she will use the social media to promote the province’s tourism.
Specifically, to help and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness, to help educate the people “on how to preserve, maintain, and take care of our natural resources that give us not only a better place to live but a source of income as well.”
Through social media, she added she can help encourage potential investors to do business in the province.
Lopez also won the ‘Best in Evening Gown’ award.
The other winners were Danielle Joie Magno of Bayambang (1st runner-up); Perla Peabody of Villasis (2nd runner-up); Christine Joy Picardal of Sison (3rd runner-up), and Diana Rose Untalan of Sta. Barbara (4th runner-up).
The winners of minor awards were won by Magno (Darling of the Press, Ms. Creamsilk, Ms. Social Media and Best in Swimsuit), Vanessa Baraquio (Smart Texters’ Choice, Best in Festival Costume), Peabody (Smart People’s Choice), Untalan (Ms. Photogenic), Keesha Maye Abad (Ms. Friendship), Tristan Khyle Torio (Ms. Personality), Riza Diego (Best in Talent).
Judges were Rodel Salvador, Angeli Baraca, Atty. Nad Bronse, Prof. Jose Wendell Capili, director Jeffrey Jeturian, actor Laurence Mossman, and Dr. Maricris Ubalde.
This year’s cash prizes were P100,000 (Limgas na Pangasinan), P70,000 (1st runner up), P50,000 (2nd runner up), P30,000 (3rd third runner up), and P20,000 (4th fourth runner up).
The selection of the Limgas na Pangasinan is the a major feature of the province’s Agew na Pangasinan (Pangasinan Day) and Pista’y Dayat (Sea Festival). ( Johanne Macob)
