SISON–A barangay councilman of Amagbagan, Sison town was gunned down and killed by hitmen riding a motorcycle in tandem in the early evening of May 24 in Barangay Amagbagan.

The  victim identified as George Seranilla, 52, was shot several times in different parts of his body with the use of caliber .45 pistol.

The shooting reportedly happened near his home and personally witnessed by the victim’s son.

The suspects fled towards the west direction after the incident.

The victim was immediately rushed to the  Northern Luzon Adventist Hospital located in Barangay Artacho, Sison but was transferred to the Sacred Hospital in Urdaneta City where he expired while undergoing medical treatment.

Politics is being considered a possible motive of the slaying because the victim was reportedly planning to run for barangay captain in the coming barangay election. (Tita Roces/Johanne Macob)
