Spanish rider tops Sual bikefest

TARLAC CITY based Edgar Nieto of Spain went full throttle in the last four kilometers and arrived all alone at the finish to capture the 2016 Sual Town Fiesta Bikefest.

He pocketed the P15,000 top prize plus a trophy for conquering the 156 kilometers rolling road saga in three hours, 16 minutes and 21 seconds.

Marcelo Felipe from Llanera, Nueva Ecija outsprinted the three-man second pack to finish second worth P10,000 while Rustom Lim of Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija, two-time Tour champion Mark Galedo of Manila and 2016 Ronda Pilipinas king Jan Paul Morales of Marikina City landing third, fourth and fifth to earn P5,000, P3,000 and P2,000, respectively.

Rounding up the top ten who received P1,000 each were: cousins Nelson and Bonijoe Martin of Villasis, Baler Ravina of Asingan, Lionel DIimaano of Manila and Mark Julius Bonzo of Sual. There were 57 starters. (Jesus Garcia, Jr.)
