THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) here collected at least Php129 million in its annual collection last year, besting the other satellite offices in the Region 1.

Richard Agbayani, LTO Dagupan chief, said in a radio interview the agency’s collection this year increased by 5%, attributing it mostly to 22,000 vehicle registrations that amounted to Php107 million.

He said the implementation of the Joint Administrative Order (JAO) that imposed higher penalty; licenses and registrations were made promptly.

However, the agency lamented that it still could not fully deliver on the backlog in issuance of license cards and vehicle plates.

He admitted some 4,000 license cards and 10,000 plates still could not be issued.

“We still do not have supply of cards while the plates remain pending in our central office, so we just stopped receiving payments for replacement of plates until we are done with our backlog”, said Agbayani. (Hilda Austria)
