24 vie for Limgas na Pangasinan 2016

LINGAYEN— Twenty-four young ladies from different towns in Pangasinan vying for this year’s Limgas na Pangasinan title were presented to the public last Monday, March 14, during the provincial government’s flag raising ceremony at the Capitol Plaza.

The candidates are Kristal Joy Larrobis (Manaoag), Kathlyn Joy Manangan (San Quintin), Hannah Quezon (Bugallon), Diana Rose Untalan (Sta. Barbara), Joane Ancheta (Aguilar), Lovely Lamptey (Rosales), Ma. Benigna De Guzman (Alaminos City), Karissa Anne Lopez (Alcala), Keesha Maye Abad (San Jacinto), Denielle Joie Magno (Bayambang), Diana Jean Cayabyab (Malasiqui), Jackie Lou Taboy (Sual), Roschelle Ciencia (Tayug), Tristan Khyle Torio (Bolinao), Reyshallen Rivera (Umingan), Vanessa Valle (Lingayen), Christelle Ivony Laguerta (Mapandan), Nikki Pinpino (Sto. Tomas), Ma. Fransel Kate Galla (Lingayen), Vanessa Baraquio (Basista), Christine Joy Picardal (Sison), Riza Diego (Bayambang), Jill Trixia Jacinto (Malasiqui), and Perla Peabody (Villasis).

According to Limgas na Pangasinan 2016 Committee co-chairman and Special Events Office head, Marife Acerit, the ladies, aged 16-23 years, will meet the members of the local media on March 19 where one will be selected “Darling of the Press.”

Events have been lined up for the contestants prior to the pageant night on May 1, including a personality development seminar, a talent night, a showcase of festival costumes, and a series of pictorial at the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag, Capitol Plaza, and beaches in Anda and Bani.

Cash prizes at stake are P100,000 for the Limgas na Pangasinan 2016; P70,000 for the first runner up; P50,000 for the second runner up; P30,000 for the third runner up; and P20,000 for the fourth runner up.

Limgas na Pangasinan pageant is the biggest celebration of Pangasinan women’s beauty and intelligence. It is a major activity of the province’s most-anticipated summer events namely Agew na Pangasinan (Pangasinan Day) and Pista’y Dayat (Sea Festival). (Johanne Macob)
