100 persons collared in loose firearms campaign

LINGAYEN— As elections draw near, elements of the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office (PPPO) arrested 100 persons and filed 77 cases in court across the province in an intensified campaign against loose firearms from January to February.

P/Superintendent Charlie Umayam, chief of PPPO’s Operations and Plans Branch of the reported that 69 firearms including 11 air guns, six replicas, 3,631 ammunition, seven hand grenades and one rifle grenade have been confiscated.

The arrests and seizures were made through search warrants, buy bust operations, checkpoints, police response and Oplan Sita. (Tita Roces)
