LINGAYEN—Suspects in four killings in Pangasinan in 2015 have been charged, the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office reported in a news conference last week.

P/Superintendent Rolie Saltat said murder cases had been filed against two suspects for the killing of San Carlos City Councilor Mienrado Ynzon on Dec. 7.

Saltat said the suspects, a male and a female, were known to Ynzon who was found dead inside his vehicle.

A murder case had been filed also against the suspect in the killing of Fil-Indian businessman Sandeep Kumar on Nov. 22 in Dagupan City. Kumar, who was a member of several civic organizations and into lending business, was gunned down in front of his residence.

The identities of perpetrators behind Ynzon’s and Kumar’s murders were not revealed by Saltat to newsmen owing to some concerns that could derail follow-up investigations.

On the other hand, the two suspects, Ace Lester Cedenio and Edjean Mata, both natives of Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, behind the killing of hotelier Adolfo Fernandez Jr. on Nov. 15 have been charged for murder as well.

Fernandez was shot in front of a cockpit arena in Barangay San Miguel, Calasiao town.

A murder case was also filed against one Victor Untalan for the gun slay of Mary Romua, officer-in-charge of Probation and Parole Office at the Regional Trial Court in Rosales, Pangasinan on June 23. Romua was shot dead while she was walking on her way home in Barangay Sumabnit, Binalonan town here after stepping out of a bus.

Initial investigations showed Romua’s killing was work-related (Tita Roces)
