THE Alumni of Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) who held their grand homecoming and reunion on Dec. 28 hailed Mayor Belen T. Fernandez for helping their beloved Alma Mater by improving its buildings and facilities, many of which were already completed and some ongoing.

This year, the school held its fun run and a “Kalutan ed Pistay City High” at the school grounds as part of its yearly homecoming program with Fernandez as special guest, during the Dagupan City fiesta.

One of the on-going projects of the mayor at DCNHS is a three-storey school building for the special arts program.

The mayor allotted P12 million for the project and another P5 million for the construction of a covered court and gymnasium.

Fernandez, along with alumni and schoolteachers headed by principal Erle Datario, led in the groundbreaking rites for the P5 million projects.

Another ongoing project at DCNHS is the elevation of the school’s pathways so no student will not have to get wet when they go to school during the rainy days.

Meanwhile, the Security Bank Foundation is building a P9.8 million two-storey school building as part of its corporate social responsibility in preparation for the implementation of senior high school.

“These are just but a few of the projects we have instituted in our Unliserbisyo program in education along with our livelihood programs, health and social services, infrastructure projects, with the help of the different national government agencies and private sectors,” said Fernandez. (CIO/Joseph C.
