Backward runner’s Guinness record attempt set March 12
LINGAYEN—After two postponements, the attempt of the 46-year-old Pangasinense backward runner to break the 100 meter Guinness backward running world record is finally set on March 12 this year.
Jojo Bigay, backward runner aiming to become the record holder, said the first attempt set July 25 last year was postponed due the bad weather experienced in the country.
Personal issues prevented him to do another attempt last September 10.
“The second delay had a tremendous and deep impact on me”, said Bigay who had to help secure the release of his brother who was arrested in August last year.
However, Bigay said the postponement also made him more determined to break the record.
The much-awaited event will be held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center 5:00 in the afternoon. The attempt will be documented and submitted to the Guinness.
