SAN CARLOS—A long time serving councilor here was found dead, inside his car on December 7.

P/Senior Inspector Darwin Zafra, chief investigator of San Carlos City Police Station, said Councilor Mendrado Ynson bore nine stab wounds and reportedly strangled with a seatbelt and was already dead when discovered inside his car parked along Barangay Agdao, four kilometers away from his house in Barangay Talang.

Zafra said Vice Mayor Jolly Resuello reported Ynson’s absence in their regular session and the sighting of his car parked along the road for hours.

Zafra said the vice mayor tried to reach the councilor through his cellphone but there was no response.

“We proceeded to the location and found Ynson’s car with him inside already lifeless”, said Zafra.

Based on the autopsy report, the councilor died of strangulation and the victim was evidently killed by more than one suspect.

“He was evidently stabbed while another suspect was strangling him”, said Zafra.

He added possibly the victim knew the suspects since he allowed them to enter his car.

The investigation is on-going and the police have yet to ascertain the motive for the killing. (Hilda Austria)
