BATANG PINOY 2015

LINGAYEN— The provincial of government sent off 90 young athletes last Monday, November 23, to represent the province in the Batang Pinoy 2015.

Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. led the send off ceremonies held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center in Lingayen and wished the athletes the “best of luck.”

“Bring honor to your province especially to yourselves,” he told them.

The 90 athletes are accompanied by 31 coaches and 15 sports officials in their journey to Batang Pinoy 2015 which will be held in Cebu City, Mandaue City, and Danao City in Cebu Province from November 27 to December 2.

The province started joining Batang Pinoy in 2011 with the support of the Espino leadership.

Exequiel Sespene, head coach of the winning 3 on 3 basketball team of the Pangasinan National High School, hailed the consistent support of the provincial government to the team that led to impressive performances of the athletes.

Last year, two Pangasinan players were chosen by the Philippine Sports Commission to participate in a basketball training in the United States.
