COJUANGCO UPDATES

FORMER Pangasinan Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco advised students of Pangasinan State University (Binmaley campus) not to waste their time and efforts and always to strive to be the best.

Cojuangco, gubernatorial bet in the 2016 elections, reminded the students in his message during the students’ acquaintance party about their parents’ sacrifices in educating them as well as their teachers’ diligence in providing them the necessary knowledge and tools.

“I want to be your champion in education. I want to be your godfather supporting academic excellence in this campus in Binmaley,” he said.

Cojuangco said he has been supportive of the causes for students’ welfare at the PSU, particularly academics and sports development.

In introducing himself to the students, faculty and guests, he cited his background as a nine-year former congressman from 2001 to 2010, as well as his vast experiences.

“In my mind, the person we should choose to be our governor should be a person who has enough accumulated knowledge, accumulated ability, accumulated experience that he could be a good governor of our province of Pangasinan,” he said.

He said he believes that in these three areas of qualification, he surpassed his rival candidate.

“I think it is important for you to know that there is somebody who wants to fight for a betterment of the future of our province of Pangasinan,” he added.

MC3

He pointed out that so many things need to be improved in Pangasinan, citing the lack of big investors, tourism infrastructure like the airport in Alaminos that remains unfinished and the seaport in Sual that has not yet started, manufacturing and industries, call centers due to slow internet connections and employment.

“I would like our province to be attractive to the investors so that they would come here, invest their money here, establish their factories and industries here so that we could have higher-paying jobs here. When that happens, you will not have to go abroad, will not have to leave the province, go far away from our loved ones to earn a decent living,” he said.

He said this is his vision for the province of Pangasinan.

MC4

He said the future of the province lies with educational institutions like PSU where students, the future professionals are molded.

Cojuangco was joined by his running mate, Calasiao Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay and Binmaley Mayor Simplicio Rosario who was the guest of honor and speaker.

The new president of the PSU Binmaley campus Supreme Student Council is another “Mark” – Mark Joel Aguila.
