1st Dagupan City Athletic Association Meet reels off
PREPARING FOR R1AA 2016
ATHLETES from public and private schools in the city in both elementary and secondary divisions converged at the People’s Astrodome on November 11 for the 1ST Dagupan City Athletic Association Meet.
The activity has for its theme: Moving towards Greater Heights through K-12 Sports Education.
Schools Division Superintendent Officer in Charge Froserfina J. Bravo said the activity serves as the final stage in the selection of athletes who will represent the city in the Region 1 Athletic Association Meet 2016.
The different sports events that will be played are: athletics, gymnastics, sepak takraw, chess, arnis, swimming, taekwondo, lawn tennis, billiards, futsal, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, football, and badminton.
During the opening program, participating delegations showed their talents in a dance/zumba showdown with the special participation of DepEd officials, the Parents Teachers Association and Barangay Council.
The showdown was considered a special event and participants were awarded points which will be considered in the computation of the different team’s overall standings.
The meet is being supported by the Dagupan City Sports Council. (CIO)
