WHERE did the educational system in the country go wrong?

This was the unanswered question in the minds of the arresting police operatives when they found out that the suspect they nabbed during a drug buy- bust operation Sunday in Sitio Aliguas, Arellano St., Barangay Pantal in Dagupan City, was a school principal.

P/Superintendent Christopher Abrahano, Dagupan city police chief, identified the school official as Winy Dumlao, 53, married, principal III of Capulaan National High School in Villasis town.

Dumlao was caught in the act of buying shabu from one Rolly Molano, of legal age, married and resident of Sitio Aliguas, Arellano St., Barangay Pantal in Dagupan.

Abrahano said they recovered from the suspect’s possession five heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu.

Their target was Molano, a known suspected pusher in the area when Dumlao was in his house reportedly buying shabu.

At presstime, the police were determining if Dumlao was buying shabu for his personal use or to sell it to other users.

Molano escaped during the raid.

Abrahano said a case was filed at the City Prosecutor’s Office against the suspects.

Dumlao is lodged at the detention cell of the city police station.

Abrahano said the Department of Education Division where Dumlao is assigned has been informed about his arrest.

Dumlao denied the allegation against him and said he is ready to answer the case filed against him. (Tita Roces)
