Malasiqui awarded with the Seal of Good Local Governance

MALASIQUI—Mayor Armando Domantay Sr. receives the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in a conferment ceremony at Oasis Country Resort and Hotel in San Fernando City, La Union last September 16.

The local government unit (LGU) of Malasiqui is one of the 14 towns, three cities in the province that passed the SGLG evaluation, based on six basic elements: good financial keeping, disaster preparedness, social protection, business friendliness and competitiveness, environment management, and peace and order.


Marisol Inacay, head of DILG Malasiqui said the local government unit passed the six basic elements.

“The Commission on Audit (COA Malasiqui) found no negative elements, its 73 barangays underwent water search and rescue training, the PNP certifies its compliance with the law and even the constituents were satisfied with its services”, said Inacay.

Mayor Armando Domantay Sr. receives the SGLG award together with Vice Mayor Anthony Geslani, Coun. Keri Domantay (Liga ng mga Barangay president) and Marisol Inacay, head of DILG Malasiqui.


LGU Malasiqui also received P3 million-performance challenge fund (PCF) which will be used in various projects according to the guidelines set by the DILG. “I thank the DILG in behalf of my constituents for acknowledging our efforts in keeping up with good governance and I thank the people of Malasiqui for their constant support and cooperation with their LGU”, said Domantay.
