BJMP inmates complete biometrics

THE unregistered 439 detainees at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology’s (BJMP) district jail in Dagupan City finally completed their biometrics data through a series of satellite voters’ registration and validation conducted by Commission on Elections (COMELEC) here.

Lawyer Ericson Oganiza, election officer in Dagupan City, said the series of satellite registration and validation for inmates in Dagupan ended September 10-11.

Jail Warden Kenneth Bid-Ing said the 439 detainees were able to complete their biometrics data, thanks to Comelec’s efforts to reach out to persons deprived of liberty to enable them to vote in 2016.

COMELEC in Pangasinan also conducted satellite registration and validation in detention centers of San Carlos City, Urdaneta City and Balungao town last week. (PIA-1, Pangasinan)
