Urdaneta PNP nabs 57 drug personalities

URDANETA CITY–The Urdaneta City police station (UCPS) arrested 57 drug personalities in 37 operations from January to September 15 this year, 35 percent higher than its accomplishment over the same period last year.
P/Supt. Jeff Fanged, UCPS chief, said 37 drug personalities were arrested in 26 anti- illegal drugs operations last year.
From the 57 arrested persons, 37 cases were already filed, representing 30 percent higher than the 26 cases filed last year.
However, the total weight of confiscated shabu decreased by three percent, from 93.5525 grams last year to 91.0372 grams this year while the seized marijuana increased by 40 percent, from 115.382 grams to 191.703 grams this year.
The latest operation of UCPS resulted in the arrest in Doña Loleng Nancayasan of Orlando Echanez, 44 of Barangay Camanang and Ashly Padayao, 23 on September 14 and confiscation of four sachets of suspected shabu.
On September 9, Jordan Jose, 22 resident of barangay Nancayasan, was arrested with 10 packed dried marijuana leaves and 12 sachets of dried marijuana leaves.
“We are continuing with our supply reduction operations as well as the demand reduction”, said Fanged.
He added UCPS is now focused on the new list of top drug personality in the city. (Hilda Austria)
