UPang Flames roast AIE Green Eagles, 102-91

UCAAP INTER-COLLEGIATE BASKETBALL
TITLE contender University of Pangasinan Flames outlasted the high-flying AIE College Green Eagles, 102-91, in respective fourth game of the UCAAP basketball tournament held at Dr. Salvador T. Duque Fieldhouse on September 8.

The Upang Flames initially played with scorching heat in the first three quarters and led by as much to 15 points on the third, 71-56.

However, they found themselves in near-jeopardy in the fourth quarter to lead by just three points, 87-84, four minutes remaining, and managed to recover their poise in the last two minutes.

Four of the Flames key players did the most damage scoring in double digits spearheaded by Joe Anthony Jacinto pumping in a team high 27 points and supported by Darwin Barte with 22, Ardel Valdez with 19 and Clarence with 10.
The Eagles’ three marquee players all natives from Mangaldan chipped in double figures led by swingman Benson Visperas registering a tournament high 36 points 18 of them from the rainbow line, while Richard Santos and Patrick Llobrera contributed 28 and 20 points, respectively.
In the first game of the day, Calasiao-based and the league’s darkhorse team PCST Topnotch clobbered the hapless PIMSAT Dragons, 115-60. (JAG, Jr.)
