2015 PRISAA INTER-COLLEGIATE BASKETBALL

PRISAA defending titlists University of Luzon Golden Tigers started fast and furious and clobbered co-title favorite Philippine College of Science and Technology Topnotch in the first period alone, 38-18, and was never threatened in the succeeding three quarters to subdue the visiting Calasiao boys, 95-78, in the 2015 PRISAA Inter-Collegiate Basketball Championship to remain unbeaten with three victories.

Led by its four marquee players Reynald Ballesteros, Dennis Cuaresma, Kevin Sepeñe and Julius Torio combining 63 points, the Perez boulevard boys of head coach Jack Vidal mauled the lads of former PBA player Christian Calaguio in any angle of the game through fast breaks and perimeter shots against the erratic Topnotch.

“The skills of our boys helped a lot,” said Vidal. “Our boys experience rattled and confused our opponent that caused them numerous turnovers,” Vidal said of the game played last September 14.

Ballesteros had a game high 23 points with Cuaresma and Sespeñe contributing 15 and 14, respectively and Torio with 11.

Two Topnotch dribblers came in two double figures led by center-forward Francis dela Peña converting a team high 20 points while play-maker Philip Medina contributing 15.

In the first game, PAMMA thumped AIE College, 96-85. (Jesus Garcia Jr)
