DAGUPAN joined the whole world in a clean-up drive on the city’s coastal areas on September 19 in support of the international coastal clean-up drive initiated by the Ocean Conservancy, a non-governmental environmental advocacy group which protects ocean and marine life.

Ocean Conservancy is conducting the project on a yearly basis every month of September in order to clean the sea from tons upon tons of garbage being recklessly dumped every year.

The city cleaned up three coastal areas, 20 river areas and creeks through the spirit of volunteerism.

Volunteers came from the ranks of the barangays, Local Government Unit, national government agencies, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and institutions numbering around 300 to 400 (CIO).
