MALASIQUI—The Malasiqui Police Station (MPS) received an ammunition reloading machine from the municipal government as its reward for winning as the “Best Unit with Past and Continuing Notable Accomplishment Beyond Rating Period Municipal Level” in the regional level during the recent 114th Police Service Anniversary last August 10.

Mayor Armando Domantay Sr. said the equipment was given to MPS as an incentive for their continuous efforts in preserving peace and order in the town.

“We are proud of their accomplishment and we hope they will do even more since they can now train with the ammo reloader,” said Domantay.

MPS bested 115 municipal police stations in the entire region.

Supt. Armando Muena, chief of MPS, said the recognition was based on their creditable accomplishment last year.

“We have increased number of operations against illegal drugs, including the arrest of big illegal drug personalities and confiscation of more than 40 grams of shabu”, said Muena.

He said their accomplishment includes the arrest of guns-for-hire criminals and the confiscation of loose firearms that led to their neutralization.

“Since we have neutralized criminal gang members, shooting incidents in the town by gun for hire criminals decreased”, said Muena although he admitted there are still reports of recruitment of new members by these gangs.

“That’s why the ammo reloading machine will be very useful for the members of MPS for our proficiency firing training and we will start using it this month,” said Muena.

MPS has 61 uniformed personnel and 5 non-uniformed personnel.

“We are so motivated to be more diligent, hard-working and consistent in being smarter in the performance of our duties given the award and the continued trust and confidence of the people in this town especially Mayor Domantay”, said Muena. (Hilda Austria)
