LINGAYEN – It’s final. The provincial government will soon operate its own FM radio station.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved last week a resolution authorizing Governor Amado Espino, Jr. to negotiate with the Philippine Broadcasting Service-Bureau of Broadcast Services (PBS-BBS) and the National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) for the establishment of a radio station in the province.

The resolution, authored by Board Member Sheila Marie Perez-Galicia, said “the establishment of an FM radio station is a significant program of Pangasinan as it will become one of the main sources of updated information of the people especially during inclement weather where public advisories will be issued from time to time.”
