2 teens killed, 2 hurt in road collision

ASINGAN–Two teenagers were killed and another seriously injured when the motorcycle they were riding collided head-on with the service car of Sixth District Provincial Board Member Ranjit Ramos Shahani along the provincial road in Purok Namnama, Barangay Domanpot here at 10:15 a.m. on July 25.

The fatalities were Ryan Vincent Sison, 17, a fourth year high school student of Barangay Bayaoas, Urdaneta City and driver of the motorcycle; and Manilyn Abellanida, 16, third year high school, student of Poblacion, Urdaneta City, backrider of the motorcycle, who died on arrival at the Urdaneta District Hospital.

Also rushed to the same hospital was Leon Aquino, 16, also a fourth year student, of Poblacion, Urdaneta City, another backrider, while the driver of Shahani identified as Ramon Torralba, 55, of Baro, Saingan was injured in the back and had to be brought to the hospital too.

Rogelio Cuyo, 38, as lone passenger in Shahani’s service cad was unhurt.

Both the motorcycle and the car were heavily damaged as a result of the collision.
The incident happened when the motorcycle heading to the west direction invaded the lane occupied by Shahani’s car, resulting in head-on collision.
