DTI eases issuance of import commodity clearance

By July 19, 2015Business, News

IMPORT commodity clearance (ICC) will now be issued to importers and traders within three working days from filing to expedite business activity.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Pangasinan said a new Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 15-01, entitled “Measures to Facilitate the Issuance of ICC,” delists some products/standards from the List of Products under Mandatory Certification but subject to the compliance with the markings and labeling requirements.

The new delisted products are ceramic tiles, plywood, flat glass, common nails, galvanized iron sheets, self-ballasted lamps, single-capped fluorescent lamps, double-capped fluorescent lamps, and magnetic and electronic ballasts.

While the delisted products are no longer subject to mandatory ICC certification, they are still subject to the mandatory markings and labeling requirements such as trade name/brand name, trademark, model or type, name and address of importer or manufacturer, country of manufacture, and direction for use where applicable.
