MAYOR Belen T. Fernandez led the groundbreaking ceremony of the standard two-storey (four classrooms) and another two-storey (two classrooms) school buildings on June 10 at Federico N. Ceralde Integrated School (FNCIS) in Bonuan Binloc.

The entire project is funded by the Department of Education under the 2014 Basic Educational Facilities Fund in the amount of P10,477,416.24.

“I am grateful to our Congresswoman Manay Gina De Venecia because she helped us secure the fund for the school buildings. I am likewise grateful to the support of our Parents-Teachers Association officials, the city schools division, the barangay council, and to Secretary Armin Luistro who continue to support us with new school buildings,” said Fernandez.

“We need these school buildings because next year is the implementation of the K-12 program and we recognize that education will break the cycle of poverty and give our young people the tools to succeed in life,” she continued.

Fernandez added that Secretary Luistro promised to give the city 42 classrooms for the different high schools in the city under Phase 1 and another 38 classrooms under Phase II.

“We are also grateful to Security Bank because they are now constructing eight classrooms at the Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) and to PAGCOR which pledged to construct 48 classrooms, too. The city have allocated P12 million pesos for the construction of nine classrooms. We are doing this because we care for our children’s future and we will continue to fight for their rights and welfare,” said Fernandez. (CIO)
