Dagupan hosts Milo nat’l qualifying race

THE qualifying race for 2015 Milo National Marathon unfolds on June 28 which will start and finish at Judge Jose de Venecia Expressway in Dagupan City.

According to Tess Bernardino, event chairperson, the footrace will be run in four categories for men and women namely the three-kilometer kiddie race for 7 to 12 years old; five-kilometer for 7-year old and above; 10-kilometer for 16-year old and above and the 21-kilometer half-marathon for 18-year old and above.

Bernardino said the participants in the 21-kilometer race may qualify and compete in the 42.195 National Finals by finishing the race within 1:15:00 for men and 1:35:00 for women, and qualifiers will get an all-expense-paid trip to Angeles City for the National Finals.

Cash prizes, trophies and medals are up for grabs in every category and with entrance fees and the entry forms for 17 year-old and below contestants must be signed by their parents or guardians.

Assembly time is 3:30 a.m. at CSI City Mall at Lucao and take off time for the 21-K runners is 4:30 a.m. The 10-K will be flagged off at 5:00 a.m. while the 5-K and 3-K to be started at 5:35 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., respectively. (JAG, Jr.)
