City condoles with De Araujo’s family

ADOPTED SON OF DAGUPAN

THE Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution in its regular session last Tuesday expressing its condolences to the bereaved family of the late Dr. Fernando La Sama de Araujo, minister of State of the Democratic Republic of East Timor, who passed away on June 2 in that country.

De Araujo, a son-in-law of Dagupan, was the husband of Dr. Jackeline Aquino Siapno, a native of Dagupan who is a holder of doctorate in Philosophy at the University of California in Berkeley in the United States.

Minister De Araujo came to the Philippines on April 13, 2009 upon the invitation of the two houses of Congress to address their joint session and afterwards, he proceeded to Dagupan City  to rejoin his wife and son.

In that visit to Dagupan, De Arujo received a resolution of the SP adopting him as honorary son of Dagupan.

The resolution was forwarded to Dr. Jacquiline Aquino Siapno de Araujo who lives in East Timor. (Leonardo Micua)
