Sec. Alcala at National Fish congress May 18-21

AGRICULTURE Sec. Proceso Alcala will address the country’s fishery industry leaders on Monday, May 18 at the Sison Auditorium in Lingayen.

Hosted by the provincial government, the 3-day event will look into modern methods for maximizing production and enlarging the market of marine products worldwide, Eduardo Maramba, president of the Philippine Association of Fish Producers, Inc., said.

Maramba is also president of Dagupan-based Fishpond Owners, Operators, Fisherfolks of Dagupan City Association Inc. (FOOFADCI), founded by Alfredo Dawana, chairman.

Congress theme is “Positioning the Philippine Fishery Towards Competitiveness under the ASEAN Economic Integration.”

Gov. Amado Espino Jr., will give the industry leaders an update on the province’s status in fish production and all facets of growth that have made it the economic leader in Region 1.

Mayor Josefina Castañeda will welcome the guests.
