PWD group receives P100,000 cash assistance

LINGAYEN- – -Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. awarded P100,000 in financial assistance to the Persons with Disability (PWD) Federation to be utilized for the construction of a database system for the upcoming national Paralympics to be held in July.

David Bulario, PWD federation president, cited some of its activities that included support for Arjhessa Espiritu, a visually-impaired beauty queen from Bautista town, who bagged the national title Miss Philippines on Vision 2013 and Julie Austria of San Carlos City who was adjudged runner-up in the Miss Philippines On Wheels also in 2013.

Jennifer Garcia of Malasiqui town, a federation member, won the 2014 Kakayahan IT Skills national competition after winning in the English text processing category.  She will represent the country under the same category in the international competition in France next year.

The Espino administration has hosted on several occasions the conduct of Special Olympics or Paralympics at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC). (PIO)
