Pangasinense boxers ignite 6th Paboksing Ed Gulpo
LINGAYEN – Some 40 ‘Pacman’ wannabes participated in the 6th Paboksing Ed Gulpo held at the Capitol beachfront on April 29 here.
The annual boxing competition, dubbed as ‘Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. Cup; and one of the features of Pista’y Dayat, provided amateur boxers in seven weight categories.
Boxers who dominated the 18 bouts in respective weight categories were: Chris John Jose (Umingan) — powder weight; Elvin Casaclang (Anda) — pin weight; Ronnel Napalit (Lingayen), Jayvee Macaranas (Calasiao), Dan Roy Carolino (Anda) and Gerald Tamayo (San Fabian) – bantam weight; Raymund Sierra (Lingayen), Marvin de Luna (Umingan) and Rhollyns Cruz (Lingayen) – light flyweight; Jevimin Macaranas (Dagupan City) – fly weight; Eleazar Brumuela (Dagupan City), Felix Caron (Calasiao), Kenith Brumuela (Dagupan City) and Jerrick Caron (Calasiao), Reynaldo Manaois (San Fabian), Efraim Palisoc (Dagupan City), and Darwin Laforteza (Calasiao) – light weight; and Gerson Astadan (University of Luzon, Dagupan City) – light middle weight.
