LINGAYEN—As more tourist destinations and festivals in the province are becoming more popular, the growth of the hotel industry is not coping.

This was the assessment of provincial tourism officer, Malu Eduayan noting how the province has failed to cope with the growing tourism industry.

She encouraged the private sector to begin investing in the province’s tourism infrastructure.

She cited the numerous inquiries on the conduct of special events and conventions in Lingayen, particularly at the Sison Auditorium, but lamented that there are not enough hotel rooms to accommodate interested visitors.

When the province held its biggest festival dubbed “Pista’y Dayat” (sea festival), the lack of accommodation was again felt.

Elduayan said the province will launch a more intensified promotion for investments particularly on hotels.
“We appreciate the expansion project of the existing hotels,” she added
