MBTF, Bravo to lead “Brigada Eskwela”

MAYOR Belen T. Fernandez and City Schools Superintendent Froserfina Bravo will lead the opening of this year’s “Brigada Eskwela” in a ceremony at the Pogo Elementary School Monday morning, May 18.

Fernandez rallied parents and school heads to join the weeklong “Brigada Eskwela” to help ensure that classrooms and their premises will be ready in time with the opening of classes on June 1.

The mayor met school principals from the different public schools in Dagupan earlier to map out the plans for “Brigada Eskwela”.

A week before the “Brigada Eswela”, Fernandez and City Engineer Virginia Rosario also made the rounds in different public schools and immediately ordered a thorough check on the electrical wirings of 12 classrooms of the Bonuan Boquig Elementary School that obviously needed inspection.

“After the ocular inspection, I immediately ordered our electrical maintenance department to fix the electrical wirings of these classrooms to make them safe and conducive to learning.”

At the KBP Forum last Thursday, Edilberto Abalos, education program, appealed for more volunteers to the “Brigada Eskwela. ”

He said volunteers can spare one to two hours per day will already be a big help to “Brigada Eskwela”.

Volunteers have been asked to report to “Brigada Eskwela” with own cleaning tools, like brooms, shovel, and carpentry tools like hammer, saw, paint brush and others.
