LINGAYEN— “…a certain place is number 1 if it is near to your heart.”

For many, it was the response during the Q & A portion of the pageant that many felt made Maybelle Pameroyan deserving to win the Limgas na Pangasinan 2015 crown.

Pameroyan, a 22-year-old high school teacher from Sta. Barbara town, and the other 24 contestants were made to explain what the tagline, “Pangasinan Number 1” meant to them during the pageant night held last April 30, 2015 at the Capitol Plaza, Lingayen.

“I will explain the tagline Pangasinan, Number 1 using the word “home”, the new beauty queen started..

“Pangasinan is the home of the richest natural resources here in the Philippines which are continuously preserved by our provincial government and also of my fellow citizens.”

“The province is the home of very hardworking people including “provincial government officials who continuously work hard not only to attain progress but to also to conserve our history and our culture.”

“I was born and raised in Pangasinan and I will continue to serve Pangasinan,” she concluded.

Earlier in the pageant, Pameroya, so impressed the local media that she was the easy favorite to win the “Darling of the Press” award.

She also clinched the “Best in Talent” award by her performance and delivery of a declamation piece titled, “The Plea of an Unborn Fetus” to win “Miss Phinma-UPang” title.

Pameroyan, a cum laude graduate of the Pangasinan State University Bayambang campus, teaches English to Grade 7 students at the Daniel Maramba National High School in her hometown.

Nichelle Yvette Corral of Bugallon was crowned first runner-up and Czaremma April Burgos of Aguilar, second runner-up.

On top of the glamor and perks for winning the pageant, the three bagged cash prizes: P100,000 cash for the Limgas na Pangasinan 2015, P70,000 for the first runner-up, and P50,000 for the second runner-up. (Johanne Macob)
