Baguio athletes rule 2015 BF Taekwondo tourney
BAGUIO City athletes dominated the 2015 Bangus Festival 6th Taekwondo Championship by winning in both the junior and senior divisions on April 25.
With their power and strength, GB Sports of Baguio City under Coach Gilbert Balancar clinched the Junior Division crown, while University of Cordillera (UC) under Coach Dominic Vello ruled the Senior Division.
GB Sports went on to secure the overall championship at the end of the competition while Brave Hearts of Baguio City under Coach Danrey Vello finished the competition as 1st runner-up; with Alaminos City’s HITC under Coach Edison Manuel, 2nd runner-up; and UC, 3rd runner-up.
Tournament Director Kenneth Ryan P. Soriano of the Pangasinan Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) and Balon Dagupan trainer said around 21 teams joined the tournament and 225 athletes sparred with each other in the floor while 186 participated in the Poomsae Demonstration Event. (CIO)
