LINGAYEN– Some 120 students and out-of-school youths have been tapped for 20-day summer jobs at the Capitol under the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES).

Provincial Employment and Services Office (PESO) chief Alex Ferrer said they will be paid more than P400 allowance each day- 60 percent of the amount will be shouldered by the provincial government and the 40 percent will come from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

SPES, a program of the DOLE and the provincial government, seeks to help students in their financial burden by providing summer jobs. Program beneficiaries are 15-25 year-olds.

The program has been running for more than 10 years now in Pangasinan. (Johanne Macob)
