Zumba and glow sticks mark Earth Hour

HUNDREDS of Pangasinenses trooped to the Dagupan City Plaza to join the global call to observe the Earth Hour last Saturday.

The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENRO), in cooperation with the city government of Dagupan and Jollibee Group of Companies, organized a group zumba session after a walk-for-cause during the one-hour (8:30-9:30 pm) power shutdown illuminated only by neon lights and glow sticks to rally people to the reality of climate change.

Advocates carrying banners and placards used neon lights and glow sticks during walk around the city’s main streets.

In Calasiao town, children were taught the significance of Earth Hour by writing messages on the care of the environment and on a ‘freedom wall’ at the Robinsons Mall. (PIA-Pangasinan)
