FIVE congressmen and a partylist representative in Pangasinan joined congressmen from the Northern Luzon Alliance (NLA) who expressed their continued support to the leadership of President Benigno Aquino III.

Representatives of the First District, Jesus Celeste; Second District, Leopoldo Bataoil; Third District, Rosemary ‘Baby’ Arenas; Fourth District, Gina de Venecia, and Sixth District, Marilyn Primicias Agabas, together with Abono partylist’s Conrado Estrella III signed the manifesto of support to President Aquino.

The lone member of congress who did not sign the manifesto of support was Fifth District Rep. Carmen ‘Kimi’ Cojuangco whose husband Mark Cojuangco, Mark Cojuangco, a second cousin of President Aquino, already expressed his support for the President at the time when their uncle Jose “Pepeng” Cojuangco was among those who demanded the resignation of the President.

Among the prominent congressmen who signed the manifesto of support were Representatives Rodolfo Farinas of Ilocos Norte, Ronald Singson and Eric Singson of Ilocos Sur.

In their manifesto, the NLA congressmen affirmed their confidence in the leadership of President Aquino and wish him to continue his programs and projects for the nation amid the crisis revolving around the deaths of the 44 commandos of the PNP- SAF and the passage of the controversial Bangsamoro Basic Law.

Among those who did not sign was former First Lady and now Ilocos Norte Congressman Imelda Marcos.  (Leonardo Micua)
