RAM: We want Roxas as president!

LOCAL businessmen, and civic leaders in Pangasinenses recently organized the Roxas Aliguas Movement (RAM) to spearhead the Roxas campaign in the province.

Led by businessman Manny Roy as convenor and Atty. Liberato ‘Ope’ Reyna Jr. as chairman, the group asked Sec. Mar Roxas of the Department of Interior and Local Government to finally declare his candidacy for the presidency during his visit to Dagupan City last week.

“We need clean, honest, and progressive government,” says businessman Manny Roy “and we believe Mar Roxas is qualified and deserves to be our next president with his clean record and expertise in investments and economics.”

“Personally, I have known the Roxas family for their honesty, integrity and unblemished public record,” Reyna said, “and I can say this because I have worked with former Senator Gerry Roxas in his law office prior to his entering public service.”

He added his family is close to the Roxas family, citing his elder brother, the late Dr. Jesus Reyna, a godson of President Manuel Roxas, while Senator Roxas was his sister’s, Dr. Teresita Reyna Santiago, wedding sponsor and his mentor during his early lawyering days with the Roxas and Sarmiento law office.

“The name Roxas symbolizes clean leadership, tapat at wagas,” Roy said. “We need him to continue the road to progress that President Noynoy Aquino has blazed,” he added.

RAM members are convinced that with Roxas as president, he will lead the Philippines to become at par with more economically advanced neighboring countries and bring a new age of prosperity.
