Preparing for the rainy season

MAYOR Belen T. Fernandez started her work last Monday at 7 a.m. going around different barangays to check roads that need elevation, drainage systems that need to be fixed and low-lying areas that need to be backfilled or elevated as part of the city’s preparation for the onset of the rainy season.

Fernandez said she has already allocated budget for these projects this year to ease the burden of residents in low-lying areas who suffer during the rainy season and even high tide.

Along with personnel from the Engineering Office, the mayor inspected different sitios and hard to reach areas in barangays Pantal, Bacayao Sur, Tambac, Bonuan Gueset, Lasip Chico and Lucao.

The following are the projects for these barangays visited though Fernandez said the list is still incomplete because the city has many other infra projects in all the 31 barangays of the city.

BARANGAY PANTAL: Zone 6 road elevation. Elevation of entire Nable Road. Backfilling in Muyrong Compound. Multi-purpose covered court in Patalan. Backfill of basketball court in Pantal Muelag.

BACAYAO SUR: Construction of Barangay Health Center. Construction of Senior Citizen Center. Installation of ceiling board and two aircons for library.

TAMBAC: Riverside road elevation. Sitio Wellington Construction of elevation and drainage.
BONUAN GUESET: Sitio Dupax road elevation and construction of drainage and improvement of Calamiong road

LASIP CHICO: Purok 3 Road elevation near Lasip Chico Elementary School. (CIO)
