Police nab six drug pushers, two robbers

THE observance of the Holy Week in Dagupan City was generally peaceful, thanks to a police station that was on high alert the whole time.

In keeping the order, the Dagupan City police station (DCPS) arrested six persons in anti- illegal drug operations conducted and two robbers during the observance of the Lenten period.

P/Supt. Christopher Abrahano, chief of DCPS, said the six persons suspected to be drug pushers were arrested separately in different anti-illegal drug operations.

One Jerome Claveria was caught in possession of one sachet of shabu in a checkpoint by patrolling officers while Jeffrey Alicoben of Sitio Caricaan, Pogo Chico was arrested in a buy-bust operation for possessing 12 sachets of shabu. Also arrested were Marlon Menesses of Lasip Chico who was found to have one sachet of shabu.

One Anthony Alicoben was arrested in Galvan Street who sold one sachet of shabu while Santiago Javier and Rowena Tandoc were nabbed for selling four sachets of shabu to undercover police officers.

Meanwhile, DCPS arrested Aldrin Bautista of Bonuan Gueset who was caught by a 63-year-old widow in the act of looting the latter’s handbag inside her house.

An ‘Akyat Bahay’ member, identified as Erick Castillo, was also cornered and arrested by police in a follow- up operation for allegedly breaking into a house in Barangay Tebeng and stole a Playstation, 5, 000. Php and 100. USD worth of cash.

Mr. Abrahano credited the success of Oplan Ligtas Sumvac of the DCPS, a security plan to keep the city safe and secure while residents and visitors observed religious activities while others frolicked in the beach, to support of the Dagupan City Government’s Dagupan CDRMC , POSO, and the Tondaligan Park administration and volunteer radio groups.
