DepED holds summer sports clinic

THE Division of City Schools of the Department of Education recently held its annual summer sports clinic in 10 sports disciplines for some 250 young children from public and private schools in the city at the West Central Elementary School.

Grouped into two categories, the clinic was open to all boys and girls, 11 years old and below and 12 years old and above. Basketball had the most number of enrollees at 85.

Other sports included in the clinic were volleyball, baseball, badminton, chess, lawn tennis, table tennis, futsal, gymnastics, and sepak takraw.

Another sports clinic is being organized next month.

Meanwhile, city athletes and coaches bound for the 2015 Palarong Pambansa on May 3 – 10, at Tagum City, Davao del Norte, will join the other athletes and coaches of the Region I Athletic Association (RIAA) delegation in the last leg of their training and conditioning sessions, on April 17-21, at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center, in Lingayen.
